Our Faith is an act of worship

 Mark 5:24 – 34

 24So Jesus went with him.

A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

30At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

31″You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

32But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

She was considered unclean and not worthy due to her illness. She was an outcast and was not allowed to be around others. Can you imagine not being able to worship in the temple for 12 years because you were considered unclean and therefore could not go into the temple? Let me bring this up to date. What if you could not see your family, hug your babies or your husband for 12 years. The very thought of not being able to have inaction with my family hurts my heart. I can’t imagine the loneliness and heartache this woman must have felt.

What we can learn from this awesome woman is her faith and act of worship. She worshiped through her faith and belief. No one wanted to be around her due to her condition but she pressed through the crowd because she believed that if she just touched the hem of Jesus’ garment that she would be made whole. I do not believe that this woman was just physically healed. Because of her faith that Jesus would be able to heal her I feel that she was healed body, soul and spirit. That is why our Faith in Jesus is an act of worship.

So, even when we are in difficult situations worship God and have faith that God has your back. His love for us is vast and covers all.
